We've previously heard from the rookies on the group to see what made them want to join the ensemble. We also got to know the returning members through a little game of "Favorite Things" (Part 1 and Part 2). Today we get to hear from the members of the Treble Threat board. They were nice enough to answer some questions about their roles for us. Hope you'll enjoy learning about these members...
Amelie - President
Why did you want your position on the Treble Threat Executive Board?
As someone who has been through so many different iterations of this group over the years, I know that I am capable of leading the group to its full potential. I love being a part of Treble Threat with every fiber of my being, and because of that I know that I will do anything I can to foster a healthy, caring, and successful a cappella environment :)
Is there a goal you’d like to accomplish while you hold this position?
I would love to perform more in the greater Boston community, not just the Berklee campus! We've got some fun stuff in the works :)
What is your favorite part of this position?
My favorite part of being president (and being in Treble Threat in general) is getting to sing with so many immensely talented and wonderful human beings! I truly love the deep connection to each piece we do that each member shares when we rehearse/perform, and I am so incredibly grateful to be chosen for this leadership position.
What has been the biggest surprise about the position?
Definitely how fast things move internally - I’m more of a tortoise than a hare, so this more fast-paced environment has been an exciting challenge!
Allie - Vice President
Why did you want your position on the Treble Threat Executive Board?
I wanted to become the Vice President of Treble Threat for the sole reason of how much I love the group. These people are my family, and I would love to do anything possible to make this group even more amazing and close-knit than it already is.
Is there a goal you’d like to accomplish while you hold this position?
As Vice President, my goal is to get Treble Threat out there in the greater-Boston area. I aim to work closely with the rest of the members of the board to ensure we have a lot of repertoire learned and gigs at which we’ll perform around Boston.
What is your favorite part of this position?
My favorite part of this position is getting to work with all of the board members!! I seriously love the rest of the board like family, and I know we all have everyone’s interests at heart. It is a pleasure making decisions with these people.
What has been the biggest surprise about the position?
The entirety of being Vice President is an exciting surprise itself. This is the first academic year in which a Vice President has been elected into office. The role is still new, however, I look forward to solidifying its responsibilities in a way that best serves the greater good of the group!
Deeptha - Asst. Music Director
Why did you want your position on the Treble Threat Executive Board?
This group and community means a lot to me and I wanted to contribute in whatever way I could.
Is there a goal you’d like to accomplish while you hold this position?
I’d like to see us have even more variety in our repertoire. I think we have a lot of talent across genres that we didn’t get to experiment much with last year so I want to help work towards that.
What is your favorite part of this position?
I love getting to understand each of us from a holistic musical standpoint—I feel like I’ve gotten to see so much more musically than I did last year and it is so rewarding
What has been the biggest surprise about the position?
No big surprises, but I never knew how much thought went into each of our musical decisions and it is really cool to be on the opposite side of that this year
Hailey - Group Bonding Coordinator
Why did you want your position on the Treble Threat Executive Board?
I want to instill and ensure a positive group dynamic, and really emphasize the fact that we are a family first and foremost.
Is there a goal you’d like to accomplish while you hold this position?
I want everyone to know each other’s birthdates and star signs! (Also hold bonding events every month to get to know each other.)
What is your favorite part of this position?
Getting to know the new members and learning what they like outside of a cappella.
What has been the biggest surprise about the position?
I’m the first person to hold this position (and this position was actually made for me to start with), so it’s weird realizing that I won’t be part of this board next year!
