"[Chance of Whiskey] has the romance, the lust, and the longing - all things that might just involve a little whiskey. Through her soft vocals, Sabrina describes the moment of a past love interest walking through the doors of the bar. We can picture the scene, her friends drinking around the bar, and when she least expects it a past love comes in and we are introduced to the possible of rekindling an old flame."
If that wasn't enough to get you excited, Sabrina was nice enough to answer a couple questions for us about the release. Here's what she had to say...
Thank you! I had so much fun writing it with Jake Lindholm and Andreas Eriksson. It was produced by Dallas Jack.
There are so many answers we don’t have, especially when we are young. There’s always a chance of something you might not be able to control or guarantee. I really wanted to write around the concept of “chance of whiskey” and that’s exactly what my two co writes and I did. “Chance of Whiskey” is a fun song about there being chances of a lot of different things happening in your night and although you don’t know the outcome, what you do know now is there’s a strong chance of whiskey.
I think this is a song a lot of people can relate to and the feeling of just needing a strong one. Hopefully it can be a reminder not to stress too much because life’s going to happen; so to try to live in the moment and have fun when you can. "Chance of Whiskey" is more similar I would say to "U-turn" in that it is more upbeat with a country feel, "Black Roses" was more of a ballad. I am so excited for everyone to be able to listen.
I can't say enough good things about this song. Sabrina accomplishes everything she talks about. Her vocals are always something to marvel at, and she did it again with this release. Anything I say will be unable to properly capture the wonderfulness of this song. You just need to go hear it for yourself. Prepare to be amazed.
