“Pears & Honey” By Sophia Eliana (Sep 2, 2022 Release)

“Pears & Honey” is the latest single from the amazing singer Sophia Eliana!

And you're definitely going to want to check it out!

What can you expect from this single? Here's what Sophia herself has to say about it in the blurb…

The new indie-folk song - written by Sophia Eliana and produced in collaboration with Maine musician, James Pike - captures the sensations of a tummy full of butterflies. Sophia Eliana’s honey-like vocals paired with James’ integration of slide-guitar, synth, and organ makes for a song as comforting as a home-cooked meal.

‘Pears & Honey’ was inspired by a conversation overheard at Sophia Eliana’s home in Maine. “I overheard a housemate of mine remark that her favorite snack in the morning is honey on toast. This simple, yet nourishing sentiment sparked great inspiration for me. I wanted to find a way to express how I, too, find ways to savor sweetness throughout the day. In the company of tea and a diary overbrimming with ways I radically honor myself, the lyrics of ‘Pears & Honey’ came together like a satisfying puzzle. Pears & Honey is a tender daydream about a longing for intimacy with both myself and a future partner”

I love the sound of that, and absolutely loved this song. I'm sure you will too, but you should find out for yourself.

You'll be able to find “Pears & Honey" on Spotify and iTunes! So, there's no reason why you won't be able track it down…which I obviously recommend you do.

Amira Noor Visits Section 36 Music!

Photo: Léonard Francano
Section 36
Music has another visitor!  Amira Noor is an incredible singer fresh off the release of her single "One More Time". I was thrilled she was willing to visit with us and discuss her music, future goals, and more. I’m sure you’ll love everything she has to say.

So, let's see what happens when Amira Noor visits Section 36 Music!

I really enjoyed your recent single “One More Time”. What can you tell me about it?

Thank you so much! “One More Time” is a really special project for me. I actually wrote it in 2018 and auditioned for Berklee College of Music with it. Back then the song was so different. It only contained lead vocals and piano. After attending Berklee, I knew I wanted to leave the college with a new single. I decided to work on this song and change it by collaborating with super talented musicians at the school. I always heard and wanted strings on this song. Luckily, after reaching out to a few string players, I was able to have an amazing string section on my track.

In addition to your music you’ve been able to do some modeling. What do you enjoy about being in front of a camera?

Photo: Léonard Francano

I really enjoy being able to express myself. I love doing photoshoots where I get to dress up and play with the clothing, products or accessories that I am shooting for.

You recently graduated from Berklee College of Music. What’s the biggest thing Berklee did for your career?

Attending Berklee College of Music was a dream. I would say the biggest thing it did for me was allow me to get out of my comfort zone. I am someone who has always struggled with stage fright. Berklee allowed me to be myself and overcome my fears as I was able to watch everyone do the same thing and learn that I am not alone.

Who or what would you consider your biggest musical influences?

My biggest musical influences are Alicia Keys, Adele and John Legend.

What would you say is your biggest career challenge?

Photo: Léonard Francano
I think one of my biggest challenges is overthinking. Every time I write a song, I overthink so much about whether it is good enough or if people will like it instead of just believing in it.

What are your immediate career goals?

I want to start releasing more music as well as performing live.

I know I'm excited to hear more releases!

As always, I want to thank Amira  for visiting, and for sending along the pictures to accompany the interview.

I'm sure you’ll all want to follow along with her to see what she's up to. I would definitely follow her on Instagram and/or Spotify. In fact, go do both right now!

Thanks again Amira, and good luck reaching your goals!

Mar Visits Section 36 Music!

Section 36
Music has another visitor!  Mar is a fantastic singer fresh off the release of her single "Memories". I was so excited she was willing to visit with us and discuss her music, future goals, and more. I’m sure you’ll love everything she has to say.

So, let's see what happens when Mar visits Section 36 Music!

I’m a huge fan of your recent single “Memories”. What can you tell me about it?

First of all, thank you! Memories was taken straight out of my journal. It is a song I wrote for myself in order to help me heal from a broken heart. It is a song that is very close to my heart and I actually considered not releasing it because of that.

Is there any other studio work in your future?

Yes! I am currently working on my next song which I am very excited about! I plan to release a lot of music this year.

You recently graduated from Berklee College of Music. What’s the biggest thing Berklee has done for your career?

I think a big thing that Berklee taught me was to be more confident in myself. Being in one of the greatest music schools, surrounded by so many talented people, can be a little intimidating. I think being at Berklee helped me figure out who I was as an artist.

Who or what would you consider your biggest musical influences?

I think by three biggest influences are Amy Winehouse, Adele, and Taylor Swift

What would you say is your biggest career challenge?

I think one of my biggest challenges is that I am too much of a perfectionist. I can spend days in the studio trying to get the perfect vocal take. Also, while writing songs, I always think there is something I can do better, may it be changing a chord, or a part of the lyric or the melody.

What are your immediate career goals?

I want to release as many songs as I can this year. I also want to focus more on performing, which is something I haven't done much since I have been super focused in songwriting.

I can't wait to hear all those releases!

Jessica Woodlee Visits Section 36 Music!

Section 36 Music has another visitor!  Jessica Woodlee is an incredible singer who will soon be releasing her new single "T.O.M.L.". (In fact, you can pre-save it now!) I was so excited she was willing to visit with us and discuss her music, future goals, and more. I’m sure you’ll love everything she has to say.

So, let's see what happens when Jessica Woodlee visits Section 36 Music!

I’m a huge fan of your recent single “Burn my Baggage”. What can you tell me about it?

Thank you so much for the support! I wrote "Burn My Baggage" as a anthem for starting over and rediscovering your self worth. I went through a really difficult time and was finally coming out the other end, but I was having trouble opening up to people and trusting others because of past experiences. Soon I realized that If I wanted to enjoy life and truly move on I needed to let go of my past experiences and "Burn My Baggage". When I released the track I was so happy to see it helping others to move forward and rediscover their joy just as it did for me.

Is there anything else you're currently working on?

My newest single, T.O.M.L. is out for pre-save now! I'm so ecstatic about this release. This song is definitely the most vulnerable and real song I've ever written and released. My experience as a freshman in college started out a bit rocky. While I eventually found my people and my place it wasn't always simple. I became really frustrated with the stark differences between the media's depiction of college life and what I was actually experiencing. I was struggling with anxiety, school stress, building a career and social pressures all at once while it felt like the whole world was saying "college is just fun and easy!". All of that frustration was funneled into T.O.M.L., a rock-infused pop song that's perfect for screaming in the car with your besties. If you ever need a song to let it all out to, I've got you covered!

You’re currently attending Berklee College of Music. What’s the biggest thing Berklee’s doing for your career?

I love it at Berklee so much! I've

met such wonderful and talented musicians. Berklee has expanded my network of friends and collaborators exponentially. Before heading off to college, putting together a simple baking band or finding a producer was nearly impossible, with very few options. Now, I have 100 people I can call for help on any given day. That type of reach and support is invaluable to an independent artist like me. I'm so grateful for my ever-growing Berklee family.

Who or what would you consider your biggest musical influences?

My influences are a wide blend of genres and time periods! I grew up listening to Clapton, Ella, Muddy Waters and Jack Johnson. As I started writing and growing into my own musician, I became extremely enamoured with clever pop lyricists such as Taylor Swift, Julia Micheals and later, unique producer/writers like Maggie Rogers and Holly Humberstone. The combo of Jazz, blues, rock and pop influences really shines through on my latest single T.O.M.L. It feels great to be able to blend my roots with my current pop obsession. I hope you love it as much as I do!

What would you say is your biggest career challenge?

Building a fanbase! Often, with the extreme prevalence of social media and the sheer number of independent artists out there it can often feel like I'm screaming into the void. I lay awake before shows hoping people will actually show up and spend weeks trying to figure out how to get my music to people before any release. But, I'm so grateful for all of the incredible support I've received so far from Team Jessica. I know that my future fans are still out there and I can't wait to embrace them with open arms!

What are your immediate career goals?

I have a whole arsenal of songs that are recorded and ready for release! Currently, I'm planning on releasing a bunch of songs as singles over the next 6 months. I jump started my goal with the release of T.O.M.L.! If you'd like to join me on my journey feel free to give me a follow on instagram and tik tok where I'll be announcing and teasing all of my next releases!

I know I'll definitely be on the lookout for those releases!

As always, I want to thank Jessica  for visiting, and for sending along the pictures to accompany the interview.

I'm sure you’ll all want to follow along with her to see what she's up to. Like she said, the best way to do that is probably to follow her on Instagram and/or TikTok. In fact, go do both right now!

Thanks again Jessica, and good luck reaching your goals!

"hey pretty boy" by Juliana Dominguez (July 1, 2022 Release)

After Major Airplay on Amazing Radio, Juliana Dominguez Officially Releases Her First Single, “hey pretty boy”

Though it may be her first single, Juliana Dominguez's "hey pretty boy" has already managed to land major airplay on Amazing Radio UK and US. “hey pretty boy” was released on July 1st, 2022.

“It just makes me feel like I'm walking through an enchanted forest.” - Shell Zenner (Currently of Amazing Radio, and previously of BBC Radio Manchester)

“This artist has created something really special. I love the guitar tone on this track, the production is absolutely stunning, and it all comes together beautifully well.” - Charlie Ashcroft (Currently of Amazing Radio)

The 18-year-old indie Latina female singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist currently attends Berklee College of Music, the same music school Charlie Puth attended. Her beachy indie pop/rock style has been described as “Clairo meets Mac DeMarco with a touch of Ariana Grande.” Juliana’s take on the indie genre is pop-forward, yet stands out with her impressive vocal stacking and unique production style. Her distinct use of ambient sounds, like birds chirping, children laughing, and ocean waves, give this gentle “enchanted” aura to her music that is currently unheard of in the indie genre. She’s an incredible talent with an angelic voice and a great ear for catchy melodies, guitar riffs, and hooks.

“I wrote this song about a boy that I met on Bumble. We had a really cute first date and planned on hanging out again. I texted him, “hey pretty boy :),” and asked if he wanted to hang out soon. He said he was busy and couldn’t hang out, which I understood, but I’m a little bit of an anxious person so it got in my head that he was maybe brushing me off and uninterested. The thought of this made me very anxious, but I decided to channel that anxiety into a song. I looked back at the text, “hey pretty boy :),” and thought to myself, “that should be a song!” so I got to writing.” - Juliana Dominguez

While Juliana did most of the work on “hey pretty boy,” she had help from some industry professionals to perfect the song for radio play. Claire Finley, a finalist to play in Lady Gaga’s band, plays bass on the track. Franke Estevez, a Sony Music remixer that has worked for John Legend and other famous artists, helped Juliana record and mix the track at his studio in her neighborhood.

“Juliana is the complete package. Not only does she have a beautiful voice, can write, arrange, and play instruments, but she can also engineer. Most of the artists that come to my studio have me do all of the work because they don’t know how. Juliana knows. She knows exactly what she wants and how to do it. If she keeps at it, she’s going to go very far.”  - Franke Estevez

Jett Galindo, an iconic female mastering engineer and fellow Berklee alumna that has mastered tracks for Selena Gomez and other famous artists, heard Juliana’s demo and was so excited about it that she said she would master it for free. Juliana Dominguez is definitely one to watch out for. She could be one of the next major female pop artists. She currently is working on some new songs to be released by the end of the summer.

“I am proud to be a woman in music supporting other women in music.” - Juliana Dominguez
