"Bubbles (Demo)" is the new single from the singing sensation Jackie Therrien!

You need to listen to it immediately!

What's this song about? Well, here's what Jackie had to say about it recently...

"while I am in the midst of working on my next big project…I’m pulling this song out of the depths of the vault for u 😗 wrote this one back in spring of 2020, and recorded this demo of it summer of 2021. I found it when digging through my files recently, and it just resonated with me in a different way than it did when I wrote it. Thought I’d take a break from my melancholic folk music for a hot sec, and give you a very small taste of my bedroom pop era."

“unlove you" by Jackie Therrien (April 14, 2023 release)

"unlove you" is the new single from the singing sensation Jackie Therrien!

You need to listen to it now!

What's this song about? Well, here's what Jackie had to say about it recently...

Over the past few months, I’ve found that the hardest part of losing someone is realizing that it’s actually over; you have to make a new routine for yourself, you have to break all those habits, and it’s a constant rollercoaster of emotions (am I moved on, am I not?). You realize you have to start living your life in a totally new way. You have to try so hard to unlove that person…but it’s just not linear.

this might be my favorite song I’ve ever written, and I can’t wait for you to hear it."

Go listen to it now!

What's this song about? Well, here's what Jackie had to say about it recently...

"For some reason, I always thought I had to write my own stories…and then I realized I didn’t.

Johanna is about a girl who is so incredibly in love that she’s blinded by the truth. She knows deep down that her heart is being broken, but she ignores it, and she stays. She ignores all the signs. She wants it to be him so badly that she pretends he wants it to be her too."

“I Tried Too Hard" by Jackie Therrien (Dec 3, 2021 release)

"I Tried Too Hard" is the latest single from the amazing singer Jackie Therrien!

Make sure you listen to it now!

What's is the song like? Well, here's what Jackie had to say about it...

"My new song “I Tried Too Hard” is finally out!! This song sat in my notes app on my phone for far too long and I’m so grateful I rediscovered it when I did.

This song was a vent, a confession to my piano before I went to anyone else. It was a song a wrote one night after a party, in a moment of sadness, loneliness, regret, and longing. I was trying too hard to force feelings that just weren’t there.

I remember writing this and pushing it away because I felt so guilty and I felt so bad. There were too many different thoughts and feelings and in that moment, sitting at the piano, they all came out of me all at once.

I think often times the best songs come from those moments.

This is something I had never planned on doing anything with…but now it’s yours :)"

That is definitely something you'll want to hear for yourself.

Jackie Therrien Visits Section 36 Music!

Section 36 Music has another visitor! Jackie Therrien is an incredible singer, coming off the release of her latest single "April". I was so excited she wanted to visit with us and discuss her music, and more. I’m sure you’ll love everything she has to say.

So, let's see what happens when Jackie Therrien visits Section 36 Music!

I really enjoyed your recent single, “April”. What can you tell me about it?

Thank you! I wrote April earlier this year, sometime in the spring. For the longest time I had been trying to write a song about love and how it feels to be in love without actually using the word “love”. I was at home one day, and at this point we were still mainly remote for school. I remember having a few minutes in between classes, so I picked up my guitar and just started playing 3 chords over and over again. I started thinking of specific moments, places, and colors, things that reminded me of him. I think those arethe kinds of things that build up to create love, which is why this song came to me so easily once I had gotten the hang of what I wanted to do. I knew immediately I wanted it to be the next single.

Having released several songs/albums, what do you enjoy most about the recording process?

My favorite part is probably adding in all the backing vocals.

Because I do everything myself and work independently, all the vocals are me, so I’ve always found it fun having to sing lower or higher than I normally would to have the contrast in voices. I also just LOVE harmonies. I’ve always felt like harmonies can sometimes be the thing that really bring a song to life.

What would you say is the biggest challenge with your musical career?

The biggest challenge is trying to get people to listen and widen the audience. You’d think it’d be easy these days with all the different social media platforms, but it’s not, because everyone else has all the same tools you do. And some people are just better at grabbing your attention on social media, keeping it short and sweet, but keeping you interested. And sometimes it’s just luck. Some people blow up on Tik Tok overnight, and others are struggling to get 200 views. It’s really really hard, and it’s a lot of work.

What do you enjoy most about performing in front of an audience?

I enjoy getting to talk a little bit about what I’m playing, and kind of give people a shirt back story of the song. I love talking about my lyrics, because my favorite part of what I do is coming up with lyrics, so when I get to talk about them and explain them and what my thoughts process was it’s always really fun.

Who/what would you consider your biggest musical influences?

I feel like I’m influenced by so many different artists of so many different genres. Taylor Swift, Fleetwood Mac, The Beach Boys, Maisie Peters, Charlie Puth, John Mayer, Billie Eilish, Lana Del Rey, Supertramp, Harry Styles, ELO. I think I’m influenced by everyone and every song I listen to, because almost every artist has their own little unique things they do, and I always try to find those things, and then I find myself doing things similar to those unique little things.

I also think I’m very influenced by what I’m watching on TV and the soundtracks of what I’m watching. Like my second album, Dreaming, I feel was very affected by the music in the show Stranger Things. Not even just the 80s songs that we all know, but the score, and how the synthesizer was used. It definitely reflected into my music, looking back.

What are your immediate career goals?

Well I’m releasing a new song very very soon, it’s called “I

Tried Too Hard”, and it’s a song I’m really proud of and it means a lot to me, so my goal is that it gets the attention it deserves. I want it to be successful, especially because this is just the start of an even bigger project!

I can't wait to hear her new song!

“No Parties" by Jackie Therrien (Release date December 31, 2020)

"No Parties" is the latest single from the incredible singer Jackie Therrien!

And you have to listen to it now!

What's is the song like? Well, here's what Jackie had to say about it...

"I wrote “No Parties” a few weeks ago, I got the idea and started writing it while I was supposed to be writing an English essay (oops). All I’ve been thinking about lately is how rough this year has been for everyone and what a mess it is, and how 2020 is finally coming to and end. I started kind of daydreaming about New Year’s Eve, and how if I could end this mess of a year in any way, it would be at a party with and in the arms of the one that I love. Obviously many people aren’t able to have parties this year and maybe aren’t able to be with loved ones (one of those people being me), so this song is basically me fantasizing about it.

I wrote this song pretty quickly, I finished it within two nights and knew I wanted to keep it simple sounding with only some acoustic guitar, piano, and upright bass. I recorded the song in one day.

I didn’t really plan on releasing this so soon, but I felt that for this song specifically to be released the last day of this year was right."

This song is just fantastic. Jackie's beautiful vocals bring to life what many of us are thinking this year. Unlike 2020, I was disappointed when this song was over. You'll want to listen to it this year, and every year from now on. Go hear it for yourself!

You'll be able to find “No Parties" just about everywhere you usually get your music like Spotify or Apple! So, there's no reason why you won't be able track it down…which I absolutely suggest you do.

Right. Now!
