Lorena Ometto Visits Section 36 Music!

Section 36 Music has another visitor
Lorena Ometto is a wonderful artist with an upcoming single, "Birthday Suit", that definitely need to hear as soon as you can. I was so excited that she wanted to visit with us to discuss the single and the rest of her music career. I'm sure you'll love what she had to say.

So, let's see what happens when Lorena Ometto visits Section 36 Music!

I can’t wait for your upcoming single, “Birthday Suit”. What can you tell me about it?
I’m also so excited for the release of this one! "Birthday Suit" is all about that flirty tension, when you both clearly want each other but pretend you don’t. It’s teasing, it’s tempting, and there’s a lot of fun in that push and pull. I wrote it with my guitarist after messing around with this gritty riff that just sounded like trouble. It’s sexy in a playful way — like saying everything without saying anything. Definitely one of those songs that makes you smirk while you sing it."

Do you have a favorite memory from the recording process?
One of my favorite memories was recording the guitar solo for the song. We spent 2 hours trying to figure out all the perfect notes for it to be satisfying and sexy like the rest of the song. We had a lot of laughs and a bunch if tracks for this one lick that I actually find it impressive. It was a long session but it was so worth it, it’s one of my favorite parts of the song.

You’re currently attending Berklee College of Music. What made Berklee the right choice for you?
I chose Berklee because I wanted to be in a space where creativity really runs wild. Everyone here is doing something different, and that kind of energy is super inspiring. It’s not about fitting into a box — it’s about figuring out who you are as an artist and pushing your sound in new directions. I’ve grown so much just by being around people who are constantly creating and experimenting. It just felt like the right place to evolve.

Who or what would you consider your biggest musical influences?
My biggest musical influences come from two sides. On the classic rock side, I grew up listening to bands like The Eagles, Bon Jovi, and Mötley Crüe — their storytelling and energy really shaped how I think about music. But when it comes to vocals, I’m inspired by powerhouse singers like Hayley Williams, Beyoncé, Demi Lovato, and Ariana Grande. I love how they bring emotion and strength to every performance. So, my sound is kind of a blend of that classic rock spirit with a strong, expressive vocal style.

What is the most challenging part of your music career?
Honestly, The hardest part is definitely fighting the urge to quit when things get rough. Music isn’t easy — you put your heart out there and sometimes it feels like no one’s listening. There are days when it feels like you’re running in circles or hitting walls. But even when it’s brutal, I can’t imagine doing anything else. That fight to keep going, even when it sucks, is what makes me stronger.

What are your immediate music goals?
Right now, my main goal is just to get “Birthday Suit” out there and have people really connect with it — whether they’re streaming it, catching it live, or adding it to their playlists. I’m all about building a fanbase that vibes with my sound and energy. And after that, I just want to keep writing songs that push me and help me grow as an artist.

That challenge, I'm sure, is something we all can recognize!
