Ella Loretta is a singer, songwriter, and actress from Raleigh, North Carolina. Known for inventive melodies, addictive pop hooks, and emotion-driven storytelling, she is inspired by the work of Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan, Taylor Swift, and Phoebe Bridgers.
Currently in her junior year at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Ella has extensive experience in choral singing and musical theater. She began songwriting seriously in middle school after her friends pitched in together to buy her a ukulele as a thirteenth birthday present. In the solitude of the pandemic, and alone in her room after long nights of theatre rehearsal, Ella’s songwriting and unique creative voice blossomed, filling up journal after journal with songs about love, longing, and the complexity of young relationships. She joined a songwriter circle and began releasing her own music in high school while still heavily involved in choir and acting. Ella’s command of harmony and storytelling as a performer infuses her work with expressiveness and intention.
In 2024 Ella won the Athena Prize Festival Songwriting Competition in Nashville Tennessee for her song Midnight Calls. Since beginning her studies at Berklee, she has worked with Grammy Award Winning Producer Matt Rollings and been invited by Grammy Award Winning Songwriter Harold Lilly to write songs at Hardcover, Lilly’s studio in Los Angeles. Most recently, Ella was nominated for Best Original Song at the 2026 Hollywood Independent Music Awards for her song Really Do.
